On Friday, June 2, 2023, Avenues the World School celebrated our third global graduation with graduates from our New York, São Paulo and Online campuses. As one school with many campuses, we held concurrent global ceremonies in New York and São Paulo, which were livestreamed for friends and family all over the world.
This special day marked the eighth graduation for New York, third for São Paulo and second for Avenues Online. Avenues Online students have the opportunity to participate in activities with their peers at our brick-and-mortar campuses, including graduation. Many Avenues Online graduates chose to convene in New York and walk alongside their peers there. They represented countries including Canada, India, the Netherlands, Pakistan, the Philippines, Russia, Ukraine and the US. As our global community grows, we’re looking forward to celebrating our first classes of graduates from Avenues Shenzhen in 2024 and Avenues Silicon Valley in 2026.
In addition to hearing from campus leadership, faculty and select graduates, our distinctive ceremonies featured global musical performances featuring students from all of our campuses, including Silicon Valley and Shenzhen, as well as showcasing videos of our seniors reflecting on the impact of their Avenues experiences and thanking their teachers.
Both New York and São Paulo welcomed inspiring keynote speakers: Dr. Sinan Aral, author, entrepreneur and MIT professor, in NYC, and Patricia Muratori, head of YouTube in Brazil, UNICEF board advisor, Porto Seguro board member and human rights advocate, in São Paulo. While imparting his wisdom to our graduates, Dr. Aral stated: “To say we live in one of the most consequential moments in human history is the grandest of understatements.” This is the very reason why Avenues The World Schools exists: to graduate world-wise leaders who are able to understand and solve global-scale problems in today’s fast-moving and rapidly changing world.
We couldn’t be more proud of our graduates, who have developed into empathetic problem solvers who will undoubtedly make a positive impact on the world.
