Avenues Outperforms on International Student Assessments

Avenues consistently ranks in the top 1% of all jurisdictions taking the ISA/PISA (the Programme for International Student Assessment) test, outperforming leading public and private schools in Canada, Finland, Japan, Korea, Singapore, and the United States.

Based on both the 3-year average or the 2022 results, Avenues remains on top. We are particularly proud of our 3-year average score, since it covers the period 2020-2022, when the worst effects of the COVID-19 pandemic were felt. Avenues students continued to perform exceptionally well through these challenging years.  It is a testament to the quality of our program and faculty that we maintained such exceptional student performance at the height of the global pandemic.

Seventy-nine countries and economies took part in the 2018 assessment, which focused on reading, and the data were released by the OECD in December 2019. While our 2022 test results have already been provided, PISA’s website has not yet been updated, and so we are using the 2018 results as a comparison.

Created by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), PISA  tests the skills and knowledge of 15-year-old students (9th and 10th grade) in the foundational areas of reading, mathematics and science. PISA also collects valuable information on student attitudes and motivation, and formally assesses skills such as collaborative problem solving and global competence.
