Sounds of Resistance

For three weeks this summer, middle grades students at Avenues New York immersed themselves in the history and culture of hip-hop and its historic intersection with racial justice, culminating in a poetry slam where they shared their own rhymes and lyrics to express what they've learned–and what they've lived.
