PRIMARY DIVISION 

Our Primary Division(G1-5) integrates the rich academic content of China’s compulsory education. With Avenues innovative global curriculum, yielding a world-class educational experience that is at once global in scale and local in focus.  

• 50/50 language immersion in English and Mandarin

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

Avenues Shenzhen has is seeking exceptional, bilingual primary math teachers to join the Primary School. Math teachers at Avenues Shenzhen ensure that students act as mathematicians every day. Teachers will foster a love for mathematics through inquiry-based activities and projects as well as skill-based problem sets. Math is learned through student-centered activities in which students define problems, share ideas, present solutions, reflect on mistakes, and master mathematical concepts and skills through creative and collaborative problem solving. Teachers facilitate discourse in class to guide and inspire students to develop a deeper understanding of mathematics, while at the same time empowering them to be their own mathematical voice. As an Avenues math teacher, you will:   

• Iterate on the Avenues Global Math Curriculum to blend with the Chinese National Curriculum for Mathematics to meet the needs of students and the local context 
• Ensure that students achieve key learning outcomes and target instruction thoughtfully to address diverse individual needs  
• Deeply connect with students, colleagues and parents to uphold a culture of welcome, safety and respect  
• Invoke a robust learning atmosphere that leads students to value being at school and feel part of a rigorous and joyful learning community  
• Inspire trust and confidence among parents and families  
• Find ways to improve your practice every day by collaborating with your colleagues  

WHAT YOU’LL BRING 

• At least 3 years of math teaching experience and a track record of student learning  
• Strong content knowledge, with a bachelor's or equivalent study in mathematics; graduate degree in related field preferred   
• Profound commitment to ensuring and nurturing children's wellbeing  
• Highly effective collaborator, eager to listen deeply, contribute to a team and achieve goals together  
• Dedication to learning and developing the craft of teaching  
• Very resourceful and adaptive, eager to embrace constant change, growth and learning    
• Native-level Chinese speaker with work fluency in English
