WHAT GRADE ARE YOU APPLYING TO?
Applying to Avenues Online
Traditional admissions processes are good at predicting who will do well in traditional schools, but poor at predicting who will go on to change the world after class has ended. These bold, creative thinkers are exactly the students we’re looking for. And that’s why admission to Avenues Online is different: all we ask is for students to think hard, work smart, and practice saving the world.
A student admitted to one campus is admitted to all our campuses. That means students enrolled at Avenues Online may choose to spend time at Avenues New York or Avenues São Paulo, or to switch back and forth between those campuses and the online experience as their schedule demands. In addition, students at all our campuses benefit from frequent digital collaboration with their peers in other countries, as well as opportunities for campus exchange programs and study abroad trips through Avenues Global Journeys.
Admissions for the 2020-21 Academic Year
Avenues Online is currently accepting applications for August 2020 admission in select grades.
The deadline to submit an application for regular notification was January 6, 2020. We welcome applications after this date to be considered for any remaining places. Please contact admissions-ON@avenues.org to ensure space availability for your desired grade level.
We recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible for expedited review. Upon receiving an offer, parents will have two weeks to respond.
For Avenues Online, the regular school year starts in mid-August and concludes in early June. In the fall, we schedule two vacations—a week in early October and a week for Thanksgiving (U.S.). Students also receive a three-week break over the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. The second semester begins in January and runs through early June, with a two-week break at the end of March. Students in grades 9-12 participate in a capstone term in May/June.
An optional six-week summer term begins in July and runs through mid-August.
Avenues Online does not observe traditional religious or U.S. federal holidays. These include, but are not limited to, Labor Day, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Columbus Day, Eid, Ramadan, Veterans’ Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Lunar New Year, Passover, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, and the Fourth of July. Students who wish to observe religious holidays may do so, with the prior approval of their advisors or Avenues Online administrators.
However, Avenues Online does include several breaks that are traditional for independent schools: a week off at Thanksgiving (U.S.), three weeks off over Christmas and New Year’s and two weeks off for a spring break.
