About Avenues Silicon Valley

Prior to our full nursery through high school campus opening in 2023, Avenues will open its doors to students in the upper division at our Silicon Valley campus in San Jose for the 2022 academic year, serving students from 6th through 9th grade. As the newest campus of Avenues: The World School, Avenues Silicon Valley will be the first location in the Bay Area, providing students with transformative, world-focused learning experiences in a state-of-the-art educational facility.

 

About the Opportunity

As we plan for the launch of the newest Avenues campus, our Digital Content Coordinator will play an important role in helping us establish and innovate our digital presence. This position combines social media management skills with a creative emphasis to enhance company social media presence in Silicon Valley, promoting brand-focused interactive and engaging content, and expanding opportunities for enrollment-related conversations with prospective families. 

 

Our ideal candidate will exhibit a balance of strategic focus and strong execution ability across written, graphic design, and interactive mediums such as video and experiential formats. We’re looking for someone with a growth mindset with experience leading social media strategies, creating editorial calendars and content, and contributing to a wealth of other exciting innovative projects. The ability to think (and act) with an audience-first mindset will be essential, as our digital footprint will be a reflection of our commitment to our local and global community.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative, mission-driven marketer to work closely with the founding team of the new Silicon Valley campus as well as to collaborate with and learn from the Global Creative and Marketing teams across all Avenues campuses to create innovative social media campaigns and other digital assets

 

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Director of Content and Events to generate social media campaigns, including content ideation and creation (images, videos, copy), and implementation of calendars and strategies
  • Ensure Avenues core branding philosophies are consistently messaged across digital and social media channels
  • Collaborate with the Admissions team to ensure our digital presence and messaging supports enrollment efforts
  • Contribute to the documentation and establishment of best practices for future founding campus teams
  • Collect and interpret campaign/engagement data to improve future campaign strategies
  • Create and distribute engaging written and/or graphic content in the form of email newsletters, website updates, blog content, or social media messages
  • Engage with and actively manage our online community to foster two-way audience communication
  • Research and monitor activity of company competitors and public opinion across available channels, including social media, SEO, etc.
  • Support video and photo production in shooting and editing for numerous projects
  • As needed, create effective digital and print marketing collateral, academic assets, website pages & related items 
 

Qualifications

  • Degree in Communications or Marketing preferred
  • A strong background in writing 
  • 2-5 years of marketing experience (and/or a portfolio of work that demonstrates advanced aptitude)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience translating brand needs and guidelines into actionable, aligned strategies and content
  • Desire to work as part of a highly collaborative and can-do team with a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach
  • Eager to roll up your sleeves and tackle challenges with a results-oriented, collaborative mindset
  • Extreme attention to detail and organization with proven project management and prioritization skills in a fast-growing, quick-moving environment
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Premiere
  • Experience working with children, in education or with independent schools is a plus
