Download the Health Forms and set up an appointment with your child's doctor to fill them out

Important: Please scan the signed forms and save them in a convenient location. In January, you will receive your credentials to our parent portal, Avenues OPEN, and will be able to upload the health forms there.

[NEW] Log into Avenues OPEN to finalize your enrollment checklist

For the best experience, please use a desktop computer or a notebook, and click on the button below.
Click on the Create Account button, select São Paulo and inform the same email address you provided in the application process to create your password.
After logging into OPEN, go to the Health & Magnus page under the My Child menu to access Magnus and upload your child's signed health forms.
Then, go back to OPEN and access your Family Profile under the My Account menu on the left side to review your family information.
After updating your family information, you will be able to read and sign the enrollment policies on the same page by clicking on the School Policies tab on top.

After hearing from the leadership team in your division, you will be able to clarify any questions about the information provided as part of your enrollment checklist; learn more about access to campus and explore it; transportation, extracurricular programs, health and nutrition; buy uniforms and take other steps to ensure a smooth start to school.

Helpful Resources

Health protocols for the start of school

Our multilayered mitigation strategy includes world-class ventilation system, use of large and open-air spaces, among others. All COVID-19 cases are monitored according to guidelines from health and education authorities.

Current safety protocols (subject to change):

Fully vaccinated students must submit their immunization proof as part of their health documentation before school start.
Families should keep children home if they are experiencing any symptoms.

Food Program

Avenues is happy to partner with Sodexo to offer a balanced diet for our campus community. Our daily menu offers fresh salads and fruits, as well as two options of animal protein, vegan options and a special version for restrictive diets to gluten and lactose. Our nutritionist is also happy to partner with families to ensure the needs of every students are met.

Students also enjoy morning and afternoon snacks with different fruits, carbohydrates and proteins. In addition, all adults and Secondary Division students can purchase beverages and snacks from our campus cafés.

All vendors go through a rigorous selection process, and production is daily, using fresh ingredients and natural seasonings. Food samples are collected throughout the whole process for hygiene and quality control. These thorough processes awarded our school with the Green Kitchen seal.

Avenues São Paulo's typical school year is full of events—exhibitions, performances, cross-cultural exchanges, information sessions for parents, student innovation and community events. Soon you will have access to Avenues OPEN, our community portal. Then you will be able to add our campus calendar to your personal Google, Apple or Outlook calendar to make sure you will not miss any school event!

The Avenues style guide creates an identity for students in all our campuses. You may read the complete style guide below.

Avenues Style Guide

Technology

Avenues recognizes the power of technology to enhance the learning experience for our students. The technology team aims to work in partnership with our parent, student and faculty community to ensure the success of the technology program.

Students from Small World, nursery and pre-k have shared iPad kits available in the classrooms. Students in kindergarten through 5th grade receive an iPad and students from 6th through 12th grade receive a MacBook Air, iPad and Apple Pencil.

New students starting in 6th through 12th grade will receive their devices during New Student Orientation. Please note that parents or guardians with students in these grades will need to digitally sign a lease agreement.

[NEW] Transportation

Our school bus service is currently operating for all students, independently from vaccination status. Pricing will vary according to the distance from the school.

Registration and payment for bus services are managed directly through our partner Bus Children. Families who wish to hire private transportation services may speak directly to Bus Children at bus-sp@avenues.org.

[NEW] Electives and Enrichment Courses

Secondary Division students have the exciting opportunity of exploring their personal interests during regular school hours.

Students joining grades 6-8 take part in Enrichment Courses designed to complement the student experience. More information about the available options will be shared with students during the welcome sessions on August 11-12.

Students joining grades 9-12 enroll in a wide variety of Elective Courses, from data science to philosophy, business strategy, music theory and more. Please take a moment to review the course options for your grade level and discuss them with your child at home. Our deans will facilitate the course selection during our welcome session for students on August 11-12.

Please note: you may ignore all dates and deadlines mentioned in the Course Guides, as they were meant for current students at the end of the 2021-22 school year.

Many of the world’s greatest scientists, artists, athletes, and mathematicians got their start early, following their curiosity and passion beyond the formal school day.

Inspired by the lives of these changemakers, we have curated a selection of after school learning experiences for our students. The range of classes engages students to explore their curiosity, excel in their passions, and just plain have fun.

Communications

At Avenues, it is our goal to keep our families as well informed as possible while being mindful of the email-saturated culture in which we live. These are Avenues official communication channels and platforms:

Email: All families are automatically subscribed to receive cyclical communications including weekly Division Head Bulletins, monthly messages from the head of school, and more.
Avenues OPEN: Here you will be able to access important information regarding the school, update your contact information and manage your communications preferences.
WhatsApp: Avenues uses WhatsApp to send read-only reminders to families, who can opt out if they wish to do so. Make sure to include a valid cellphone number to your Family Profile on Avenues OPEN to receive our messages.

Community Engagement

We are committed to helping students get out of their bubbles, whether socio-economic, cultural, or linguistic. Not only because it’s the right thing to do but also because young people learn and grow in extraordinary ways when they do. From Small World to 12th grade, our community engagement, social innovation and mastery programs emphasize experiential learning that allows students to forge personal connections to individuals, organizations and causes beyond the campus walls. Through these connections, we inspire students to commit to the common good and foster a desire to make a difference in the world. These deep and sustained forms of engagement are crucial in our effort to cultivate the next generation of courageous, compassionate and enterprising global citizens.

Brazilian Program

Avenues is building a global network of interconnected campuses with shared educational objectives and common pedagogical approaches. But while our vision is ambitiously global, our focus is decidedly local. That means that at Avenues São Paulo, we take Brazilian educational standards as seriously as we do international ones. With an integrated curricular approach to instruction in Portuguese and English, our students attain a balanced mastery of both languages and reap the extensive cognitive benefits of bilingualism. All of the Brazilian national curricular components of Portuguese are included in our language curriculum at each grade level. We do not see English and Portuguese as belonging to separate silos but as two essential facets of an Avenues education.

Dean of Student Life Program and College Counseling

The College Counseling program at Avenues strives to provide individualized and supportive guidance for students navigating the college process. An Avenues Dean of Students is an advisor, a teacher, a listener and a primary support person. They work with students and parents, both individually and in groups, on educational, social and emotional development needs, life skills, and problem-solving. In the upper grades, students are assigned to a dean that will also provide college counseling support. We will expertly guide the entire college process, leading to students wisely choosing desirable, selective post-secondary pursuits where they will thrive. We will ensure that students and families feel well informed and prepared for the college process. Also, we will anchor the college process in powerful relationships with students and their families.

An integral part of the Avenues mission is to graduate students who are at ease beyond their borders. We often think of borders from a geographical lens. Still, they can be viewed by race, social-economic status, physical ability, language, etc. With the spirit of empathy and authentic listening, our students will develop the cultural competencies to connect across these borders, respect and celebrate differences. Aligned with our commitment to Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI), we work to nurture a school culture where each person is trusted, valued and appreciated in our community for the diverse identities they represent. Performing Arts

The cornerstone of the music program is performance. We strive to provide our student musicians with real-life learning opportunities within and outside the school community. By studying instrumental and vocal techniques, performing skills, percussion, and a great variety of music genres, we prepare students for public performances and music appreciation.
