Campus Tour & Conversation
An Introduction to Avenues Studio Hamptons

Studio Hamptons

Lower Division at Studio

Students in grades 1–5 engage in an innovative and world-focused curriculum delivered by our exceptional Studio faculty. Students work in mixed-age cohorts to study numeracy, literacy and Great Works, our interdisciplinary, project-based curriculum. Projects combine reading, social studies, science, math, and art, inspiring students to make connections to their community and environment.

Units encourage curiosity and creativity while rigorously building foundational skills. Focused instruction takes place in literacy with targeted practice in reading, writing and phonics. A problem-based math curriculum develops sophisticated numeracy skills through the application of math to real-world problems.

Upper Division at Studio

Students in grades 6–12 work closely with an onsite faculty mentor in a mixed-age advisory group to develop their social emotional learning and executive functioning skills, build community and engage in service learning.

Core academic courses are conducted through our proprietary online learning platform and taught by our exceptional global faculty. Our unique, interactive platform enables students to connect with peers from other countries and attend classes flexibly from anywhere in the world. Upper Division students at Studio work closely with their onsite faculty mentor and peers on their individual project work.

Studio Environment

The studio serves as the dynamic hub for our tight-knit community of mixed-age learners to connect with each other and our team of onsite mentors. Our open-space studio provides an ideal environment for individual meetings with mentors, collaborative project work, independent study, and community events.

Custom-Fit Schedules

Rather than following a prescribed, standard-issue schedule, our students partner with their mentors to develop individualized daily and weekly schedules for their on- and off-site learning. Through the process of co-designing and constantly refining their flexible schedules, students learn to manage their time comfortably and effectively to fulfill their responsibilities, achieve their goals, and pursue their passions.

Great Works

In Great Works, the core curriculum for Kindergarten to 12th grade, students collaborate on interdisciplinary projects in humanities, social sciences, and STEAM fields to make purposeful connections to past, present, and future global issues. A Great Books curriculum complements each unit of study. Students read and discuss curated texts which deepen their understanding of what they learn in class and bring to life the defining ideas of humanity. The result is a rare combination of academic depth and interdisciplinary breadth which guides students to make sophisticated connections between their coursework and the world around them.

Through Experience Lab (“X.Lab”), students dedicate up to 20% of their time at Studio to personalized learning experiences co-designed with our exceptional faculty. X.Lab can take many forms and is customized for each student to ensure deep learning, purpose, and personal relevance.

Global Passport

The Global Passport curriculum focuses on task-based language learning and enables students to choose from over 50 languages of study—from Mandarin to Malay, from Spanish to Swahili, from Portuguese to Punjabi. Classes are conducted online in small groups or in private one-on-one sessions.

Math Inquiry

Our math inquiry program emphasizes collaboration and communication, encouraging students to take active ownership of their learning. Over time, students come to appreciate both the practical application of mathematical thinking and the beauty of mathematics as a source of reasoning.

1:1 Mentorship

Each student is partnered with an exceptional mentor from our Studio campus team who serves as a trusted advisor and expert learning coach. Mentors cultivate genuine, personal relationships to ensure each student is deeply known, well cared for, and expertly guided through their academic, social, and emotional journey through school.

Learning to Learn

Students receive daily instruction and coaching to develop their understanding of the learning process and the strategies that work best for them individually. Our dedicated Studio team focuses on metacognitive knowledge and skill development to enable students to plan, monitor, evaluate, and adjust their learning effectively and independently.

Global Avenues Ecosystem

Students at all our campuses, including Studio Hamptons, New York, São Paulo and Shenzhen, benefit from frequent digital collaboration with their peers in other countries, as well as opportunities to join Global Journeys programs and campus exchanges. A student admitted to one campus is admitted to all campuses, meaning families can provide their children with an Avenues education from anywhere in the world.

Intercampus Enrollment

Students in grades 6–12 at our Studio Hamptons campus are invited to participate in a unique intercampus enrollment opportunity. Students who take part in this program will benefit from integrated, flexible school experience drawing from three of our campuses: Avenues Online, Avenues New York, and Avenues Studio Hamptons.

With core academic coursework delivered through the Avenues Online program, students will have the opportunity to move fluidly between our Studio Hamptons campus, a designated space on our New York campus, or learning remotely, with academics uninterrupted by changes in geographic location.

Connect with our admissions team to learn more.

Co.Lab is an experiential service learning program that empowers students to connect, collaborate, and contribute to their school and greater Hamptons community. Using a design thinking framework, students work in mixed-age project teams to understand problems, design solutions, and build meaningful relationships that create lasting impact.
