The Events Manager reports to the Director of Content & Events / Marketing and  will be integral in the success in driving optimal enrollment, through curating the event experience of generating brand visibility, greater word-of-mouth, higher demand and increased retention of families across campus. This role will  be responsible for planning, development and implementation of marketing programs activation, and key campus events that serve families, virtual or on-demand event activity while refining and implementing processes that result in effective and streamlined executions.   This role works across the campus, brands, partners,  vendors,  closely with the experience  team,  operations, technology, people and culture, parents, to ensure events are thoughtfully designed to exceed the expectations of attendees, well planned, and flawlessly executed.



  • Creates and manages the annual Avenues Shenzhen events calendar
  • Plan, develop and execute branding events, key campus events, virtual and on-demand events, and more., etc. with strong collaboration with internal and external teams so as to create an exceptional experience in events/ engagement activities
  • Support Director of Content & Events / Marketing in exploring new channels and ideas on promotion and third party collaborations to generate brand visibility, greater word-of-mouth and drive brand interests. 
  • Manages the major event rehearsal, production, and post-production across the teams that were determined would enhance campus awareness.
  • Partner with  disciplines/departments  to support their refined process and to streamline execution 
  • Work together with the creative production lead and content writer to map and design event content, creative assets and collateral materials
  • Source, negotiate with, contract and manage all vendors  to ensure quality service
  • Develop and track KPIs and a simple system to assess and continuously improve event experiences and to transform data into actionable insights. Ensures that the event lead is 100% satisfied with their event outcome and feels confident with the support leading up to the event. 
  • Builds the toolkit to plan, curate and execute campus events
  • Serves as an Avenues brand steward in event planning and management. Each event should have clear outcomes and will be designed in line with Avenues standards.



You bring all or most of the following:  

  • A minimum of 5 years experiencein event management
  • Fluentin both English and Mandarin 
  • Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in a creative or Marketing, Communications,  Event-related field
  • Planning, systems-oriented and organized. Strong project management skills in developing and implementing initiatives and possess the ability to solve problems promptly and effectively. Executes competing priorities effectively, in ambiguity, while juggling a lot; highly resourceful & creative, able to get around obstacles and achieve goals; ability to zoom out and see patterns in data and dive-in and think through challenges; appreciation for schools and what makes them unique
  • Creative sense. The ability to plan, design, and manage all creative relating to event needs while ensuring they are budget compliant. Procures vendors and suppliers for items inclusive of, but not limited to: branded decor, laminates, lanyards, napkins, props, floral, pipe and drape, sound, stage, lighting. Etc. In certain cases, knowledge and ability to source and select venues based on event needs.
  • Leads through relationships and influence/indirect leadership. Extremely strong listening, humility, empathy, and relationship building. Can effectively lead through influence. Comfortable in a matrixed organization. A nuanced understanding of how schools operate and school leaders think/react. Highly skillful communicator, across all levels of the organization. Listens deeply to families, students, and employees to gain a deep understanding of their needs and behavior drivers.
  • Budget stewardship and partner management. Ability to forecast for the coming year and make adjustments throughout the year based on realities. Must be knowledgeable on ‘what things cost’ and able to establish event budgets based on that skill. Maintain the brand promise and brand relationships to create and sustain brand equity. Knowledge/skills/expertise in contract creation and negotiation. For special events, able to procure vendors and suppliers and negotiate to the best price to fit in the budget.
